Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.com Product Description
Turn your workouts from pedestrian to powerful with the D-75 for Dummies, which combines a strapless heart rate monitor with a built-in pedometer. Ideal for anyone who wants to improve his or her exercise routine, the D-75 safely and effectively monitors your heart rate and workout intensity with just a quick glance at your wrist--no chest belt required. Monitoring your heart rate is important whether you're training for a marathon or just want to walk for basic exercise and weight loss. Not only can you determine whether you're exercising too vigorously or lethargically, but you can also create a custom workout routine with escalating intensities. The pedometer, meanwhile, employs advanced accelerometer technology to count your steps, distance, and calories, making it a must for runners and walkers looking to build a more disciplined and effective workout routine. Best of all, the D-75 is simple and easy to use, with a Dummies formula instruction guide that walks you through the necessary steps.p Other details include an easy-to-read, large LCD display with backlighting, a stopwatch and countdown timer, a memory recall feature that lets you review the last session, a pacer mode, a 12- or 24-hour time display, a calendar, and a daily alarm. Ideal for avid walkers and joggers, the D-75 is backed by a one-year warranty.p

2 out of 5 stars For Dummies? I must be really stupid....   November 21, 2008
I just received this and tried it last night at the gym. I was able to set up the clock and figure out how to use the heart monitor but I can't for the life of me figure out how to work the pedometer. I did figure out how to set up my personal settings but how the heck do I check my status? Push this button, push that button? Push mode and then feature 1 through 11? This is for Dummies? I expected to be able to push one button and see my progress. For such a simple looking device it sure is complicated! I should have stuck with the old fashioned kind.

Waste of money, came out dead out of the box. Changed the battery, still not working.

2 out of 5 stars not for dummies   September 22, 2008
for having only a few buttons its ridiculously confusing. buy one of the better ones not geared "to dummies"

4 out of 5 stars D-75 - Decent Watch but not for serious Walkers/Runners that expect accurate pedometer   September 11, 2008
1 out of 1 found this review helpful

I've been using this wath for about 6 weeks now. For what I paid here on Amazon, it was good value for what you are buying.br /br /I can tell you the heart rate monitor, when activated, is accurate. I've compared it to the rate monitors on the cardio machines at the gym and it is right on. br /br /I rarely use the Pedometer function as it is not very accurate. You must walk or jog with a very strict motion to engage the pedometer but it still doesn't count steps as well as a cheap waist worn pedometer. Of course, you can adjust the length of your stride. I bought a little no-frills pedometer at Walmart for $5 and it is more accurate than the D-75. I've really given it a chance but it just doesn't work quite right.br /br /All the other functions (time, chrono, alarm, stopwatch, etc) work as advertised. I can also say it works well in the pool as I use it all the time while swimming laps and it has never given me one problem.br /br /I have two big gripes: The gray wrist band is just plain ugly. Why they didn't color it black so it would look nice with most anything you wear is beyond me? The gray just stands out as odd looking. br /br /Second, the watch arrived DOA with a "completely" dead battery. Took it to Walmart and got a new battery for $4. Don't know why the batteries are such an issue but I've seen others gripe about the same dead battery issue. You've been warned...

3 out of 5 stars Nice watch but comes with dead battery   August 29, 2008
Watch was sent out and dead battery on arrival. Contacted seller to replace it. Promptly did and sent another watch with a dead battery. Stated Amazon kept stock but they didn't when I called Amazon to inquire. I wanted the watch so I replaced the battery. Tried to contact seller again via email with no response. If you don't want to replace the battery, don't buy from this seller."
