Broke within an hour... December 11, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have a rapid/irregular HB and asthma... I figured this would be a great way to monitor my HB and oxygen levels at home. I was so excited because I got it for 89.99 I thought what a great deal! Well I will list the pros and cons and you can decide for yourself... I have had it for a few hours...br /br /PROS - It arrived very fast... It shipped on 12/9 and I recieved it 12/11. I shipped from the west coast and I am on the east coast so I am impressed with shipping.br /br /- I like how it shows the heart beat the line thing (sorry I forget what that is called) but all of the others I looked at did not have that feature it was just based on numbers... I was willing to dish out an extra $20-40 for that feature.br /br /CONS -br /br /- The batteries do not fit in right... it took me 20 minutes to get the batteries in without popping back out.br /br /- a piece of plastic fell out from the inside... I have no idea what it was for or where it came from but somewhere inside where the batteries go...br /br /- The door that goes over the batteries is VERY hard to get on and when you do get it on you have to cross your fingers the batteries dont pop out in the process forcing you to do it all over again.br /br /- Very flimsy... it just seems like the first time it gets dropped it will break in halfbr /br /- where you put your finger and it shuts there are two hinges and the springs are so thin... It looks like it will break at any moment.br /br /- I had issues with it showing static colors on the screen a few times... I thought it was busted but I jumbled it around and got it to finally turn back onbr /br /- there is a company sticker with the product information on the back and it isnt on straight... That is a con for me because it just appears that it wasnt made wellbr /br /- When I called the seller number to ask a question some guy answered "hello" not the companies name... I tried it 3 times and even got the number from an amazon operatorbr /br /- sometimes you have to press it 3 times before it will turn on...br /br /- There were two costco (kirkland brand) batteries thrown in the box... I thought that looked very unprofessional and weird? This has to be run out of some guys basementbr /br /- If you have long finger nails it does not work properly... my mom has fake nails and they are not long at all but it will not read right for her... it was saying her HB was 156 and oxygen was 60!br /br /- Well as I am writing this I tried to turn it back on and it finally broke... it shows the static colors for a split second and turns off... looks like I will be returning it... I was planning on trying to see how it worked for a week but this is really a piece of junk... This should be priced at $19.99 not $189.99 and I feel bad for anyone who pays that much for this product and I seriously think those reviews are from people who got an older model that was nicer or people that worked for the company... I could deal with some of those issues but it doesnt even work now!! there is no excuse for this... i am sure this was made in china.br /
recommended pulse oximeter August 3, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Good product, works as advertised. We checked it against one at the doc's office -- it's spot on. Large letters are easy to read.
good for everyday checks and balances May 19, 2008 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
Purchased this for my mother, who is undergoing tests for a mysterious lung ailment. She is supposed to keep track of oxygen levels during varied activities throughout her day. This is easy to use, and accurate when compared to the respiration-therapist's "official" oximeter at the hospital, so it's meeting her needs. Seems to be ultra-durable, too. The whole family is actually getting kicks out of trying it out! Would recommend highly.
Great Bargain!!! December 3, 2007 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
A third the price of the FDA approved look-alike! Works well...handy and accurate. Well made sturdy. I used mine while working with a humanitarian medical team working in small clinics in Vietnam. It is a good diagnostic tool and is easily used in austere conditions.br /br /
