Great for workouts not 100% perfect November 13, 2008 I love the heart rate monitor. I love knowing how many calories I burn in my workouts, my trainer is even using it now to gauge how hard he is working me. But I have to say untill you start sweating it has a hard time picking up an accurate heart rate, make sure you do what it says and wet the back of the sensor a bit. I do love that a lot of cardio equipment automatically picks up the polar sensor!!!
Disappointed over the durability of this watch October 5, 2008 The watch has worked, if only for a brief time, and is a wonderful tool for monitoring heartrate and calories. However, after less than a year, it only works 50% of the time and both button tops on the sides have come off, thereby making it difficult to use the watch for anything other than time. I'm currently looking for a similar watch, different brand, that has the Polar's same features.
good for those who want constant feedback October 5, 2008 I purchased this because I wanted to be alerted if my heart rate was too high and I needed a new watch. br /br /I can get over my target zone very easily, and that's dangerous. br /br /This watch beeps if you are not within your target zone. It beeps while you are getting there, and if you are too high. br /br /If you don't like wearing a chest strap, this isn't the watch for you. br /br /I don't mind wearing one, and after awhile, I really don't notice it's there. br /br /Mine reads accurately when the chest strap is dry or wet. br /br /You don't have to get it wet first, because it'll eventually do that when you start sweating. br /br /I wear it without the chest strap to work since it's not bulky like some of the other heart rate monitors. Of course, it's not going to give my heart rate, but, it does tell me the time. :) br /br /When I get home and hop on my gazelle, I put the chest strap on. br /br /It tells you all sorts of things, how long you've worked out, the amount of calories burned, average heart rate for that session, highest heart rate for that session, etc. br /br /It took me about 5 minutes to put in all my information. You can change that later, ie, when you lose more weight. br /br /I think this is a great watch if you want something moderately simple and somewhat informative. br /br /
Good but would like to transfer data September 20, 2008 I have been using this product for several years. It is my first heart rate monitor and I like the use of seeing how much i'm pushing myself with the heart rate measurement and especially the estimated calories burned. This def gives me more motivation. The heart rate monitor will be picked up on the machines at the gym also displaying it there. Some ones that are probably are broken end up interfering and giving screwy numbers for the watch. The one thing that I thought it had when I bought it was the uplink feature. But that is only to transfer data to the watch not to get my workout data off the watch and onto my PC which would be helpful in tracking progress. Why write it down manually? Still good product.
Very dissapointed..... September 13, 2008 I bought the Polar F4 heart rate monitor and was so excited about my purchase. I received the product very quickly and was happy about that. But when I opened the package and tried to turn on the watch...NOTHING. They sold me a HRM and the watch battery was already DEAD. How dissapointing. I was hoping to get using the monitor right away....but nope! So after searching for a battery that actually fit the watch, I had to drive an hour away just to get the right battery! I like the monitor but am so upset I had to go through all of this just to get using it. I spent $90 and shouldn't of had to have to replace the battery even before my first use!!
