son of man, son of riiiiighteousness!!! November 6, 2008 This cd is very solid and uncompromising. I heard "I Need You," then downloaded the rest...I was taken aback by the songs, because they are powerful. If you like Tye Tribbett, Myron Butler, or Kirk Franklin, or just Gospel...geez, even something to worship to, buy this cd!
Simple November 3, 2008 This project is a little more unique (out there) than the ones in the past. This may be a little extreme for some. However, I enjoyed the entire CD except for 2 songs (So Amazing and He Has Made Me Glad).
Stand Out is sounds different, but the message is the same October 22, 2008 Ever since I heard about Tye maybe 2 years ago, I haven't been able to listen to gospel music the same. His messages in his songs are clear, precise, and Biblically informed.
This album is much different sounding from his previous albums, so you might have to listen to it a few times to start feeling it. You will definitely 'feel' the first track, "Stand Out", where Tye literally calls Gods people to be seperate from the world in every way. It made me examine who I really am becoming.
Sure to be an instant favorite is "Son of Man," a clear call to worship Christ. I cannot stop listening to this song! Amazing...
"I Need You" is a powerful worship song as well...I mean Tye has done it again.
As for the sound, he uses ALOT of Rock and Roll influences (electric guitar, drums, melody-format), traditional Gospel sounds, Tye Tribbett gospel sounds (he has his own personal style, you just have to hear it)and yes, even Hip-Hop on the track "Good in the Hood" which is essentially focusing on the plight of African-Americans and essentially everyone living in poverty-stricken urban areas that are trying to make it through life the right way.
If you are looking for some inspiration and words that will get you through your day and motivate you to get closer to God, you will want this offering from Tye Tribbet and Greater Anointing...share it with friends and family. I can see many of the tracks on this album being sung during praise in worship in churches across the nation and globally.
I love this cd.
This CD does STAND OUT in JESUS NAME! October 20, 2008 I admit when I first purchased the CD, I wasn't feeling any of the songs except for Hallejuah. I then decided to give the CD another chance, since I'm a Die hard Tye fan! Well I must say, you have to think outside the box to enjoy this CD.Yes, its not like his other two CD's... and to me thats good. I would get tired of the same sounding CD's! Thats just me. Theres only a few songs on here I don't really care for, but I can pop the CD in and listen to it all day, every day! Just like one user said, he has a little bit of everything, funk, jazz, r&b, rock, etc. To my amazement I liked the song " So Amazing" that is essentially a rock-gospel song... and I can't stand rock. I think if you look pass the type of music and look at the message in the music... this CD will minister to you. Open your hearts and minds people- I did.
I will always be a fan of Tye & G.A
The Truth about Standing Out September 15, 2008 Standing Out... is what we all need to do. The three Hebrew boys stood up for themselves and got themselves thrown into a fiery furnace. But they didn't burn. They walked around the furnace, with God inside; Flames so intense that they would burn you to the bone in 5 seconds. But God kept them safe and they came out of the furnace without a scar or burn.
