Best Pop/Rock I've Ever Heard... November 1, 2008
I first saw these folks on Saturday Night Live way back when. I immediately said, "Who's that?!" I bought the records as soon as possible.br /Later, I sold everything I had and moved to L.A. but I never forgot about Desmond Child and Rouge. Desmond has a particular way of writing that I can recognize a mile away. He's collaborated with a lot of artists. So, once in awhile his name would come up. I realized I needed this record in my life. I had to buy this album online and record it on to a CD. I was so happy I did. This is the best Pop/Rock I've EVER heard. Now, it's available on CD. If you understand music at all, you will love this. G.E. Smith on lead guitar, emotional female vocals, Desmond's songwriting and singing---Hell, what else IS there?

Lost classic alert!!br /br /If you can imagine "Rumours" being made in NYC, "Bat out of Hell" without the cheese, or "Born to run" being arranged and performed by the kids from "Fame" and like the idea, get this album.br /br /If not, get it anyway. See if the "baby, baby, baby, baby" part on "Tumble in the night" doesn't give you goosebumps. I dare you.
A Real Head Scratcher... August 19, 2008
This is simply one of the finest pop/rock albums to come out in 1979 - and it bombed. Great songs, superb vocals, terrific production and a killer performance on Saturday Night Live then nothing. This one just didn't take off. It's a real head scratcher as to why it tanked. I played my vinyl copy till you could see through it. Everyone that heard it back then always asked who they were. br /br /There are two albums that I have waited impatiently for and they are now out on CD 1978's "Meet Me At the Crux" by Dirk Hamilton and Desmond Child Rouge's "Runners in the Night". Both are a must for any collection of 70's music. They are easily in the best of that era. Miss these and you have a huge hole in your collection.br /br /Get'em, you won't regret it.

simply put this is the best hard rock/disco fusion ever. Bowie's YOUNG AMERICANS and STATION TO STATION can't even touch it. Desmond child has gone on to write hits for AEROSMITH and countless others and is richer than god because of it. The girls of Rouge have gone onto rightly deserved careers as back up singers,et.al for countless acts as well as voice over work. It could'nt happen to a better bunch of people. Thank god this lost classic finally made it on cd. Don't just sit there,BUY IT!
