5 out of 5 stars A good start to compiling a Camping kit   September 15, 2008
An asset for camping!!! I do have to say that I added some items to this kit such as the rattlesnake bite pump and some light sticks just in case but the carry bag leaves ample room to add materials you think you will need for the camping trip. Other than that, it is a perfect kit.

5 out of 5 stars A little bit of everything   June 9, 2008
This kit has just about all the basics and more. I was surprised at the number of different items it included. The price was quite reasonable and it all fits nicely in the zip up pouch. Real good value for the money.

5 out of 5 stars Great Product   June 3, 2008
Great product, arrived on time. For the price I think it has a lot. I would recommend this to a friend and would buy again if I had to.

5 out of 5 stars Very good for a camping or car emergency medical kit.   April 17, 2008

I purchased this kit for the purpose of carrying it out on camping trips. The items as a whole will serve well to treat most non-emergency injuries, and even a few that are moderately serious.

The kit contents seem slightly biased toward camping, fishing, that sort of activity, since a few of the items are particularly useful for when a person is injured far away from heavily travelled areas.

The quality of the items seems to be pretty good. This is certainly not an EMT kit, but it is definitely good consumer-grade stuff. I could see this being useful to people with very little to intermediate levels of education in first aid.

Since a few of the items (antibiotic ointment, for example) are perishable, the kit has an 'expiration date', but most of the items will last for many years. The expiration date given for the perishable items in my kit, purchased a week ago, is November of 2010.

There are three ways to carry the item. one small set of handles on top, an adjustable shoulder strap, and inside the pack is a curved metal hook, presumably for hanging inside a tent at night out of the way of careless feet.

I would judge the overall item to be semi-waterproof. It is enclosed almost entirely by thick and clear plastic with the green mesh that you can see in the product image here. The interior contents are mostly packaged inside their own plastic pockets. Also, many of the interior items are inside sealed aluminium packets (like the way yeast is packaged in an American grocery store). The item would definitely be fine if it were temporarily submerged in a river, but I would not trust it after more than 10 minutes of submersion.

The item does not have much in the way of content details listed here or at the manufacturer's website. For the benefit of future shoppers here, I will list what is included. I have also added a few more product images to this product page here at Amazon. You can find them at the top of the product page.

This is an outstanding first aid kit. I bought one for my and my girlfriend when we became first aid certified. Has everything we would need, should we need it.
